The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), also known as CS3D, is a European directive requiring companies in scope to identify, prevent, and mitigate negative impacts on human rights and the environment across their value chains. Directive (EU) 2026/470 revised its scope and timing. The revised thresholds include EU companies with more than 5,000 employees on average and more than EUR 1.5 billion in net worldwide turnover, and non-EU companies with more than EUR 1.5 billion in net turnover generated in the EU. Other scope conditions may also apply. Member States must transpose the amended rules by 26 July 2028, and apply them from 26 July 2029. Check national implementation and group circumstances before determining whether the directive applies. CSDDD due diligence goes beyond reporting; companies in scope must take action to address adverse impacts.
